We strip and stockpile topsoil, balance the cut and fill across the parcel, establish pad elevations and drainage slopes, and compact the subgrade so the concrete crew that follows us has a stable, level surface to work on. Why Grading Matters

Poor grading is where drainage problems and settling start. Water that pools against a slab or a subgrade that was never compacted will cost far more to fix later than it would have to grade right the first time. We set positive slopes that move water away from the structure and build the subgrade to a specified density so nothing shifts under load.

Our Process

We walk the site and read the soil, plan the cut and fill balance to keep haul trips down, strip the topsoil aside, and rough grade to the plan elevations. Then we place and compact any structural fill in lifts, verify the density, and finish grade to tolerance. Screened topsoil goes back on last for seeding.
